    Charles was born into a well-rounded successful family. Darwin's father Robert and grandfather Erasmus were doctors. On his mother's side, the Wedgwood family had a business selling the beautiful pottery sculptires they had made.

    Darwin’s mother passed away when he was eight years old. Darwin was then raised by his three older sisters.

    On 01 September 1818, Charles joined his older brother Erasmus Darwin in enrolling at the Shrewsbury school. Charles made plenty of friends and developed many interests. Charles enjoyed playing hockey on the ice. Charles loved creating experiments and exploring nature, collecting minerals and insects for his collections. Erasmus and Charles took an interest in chemistry and opened a lab in their garden shed at home. They would be further interested in using crystalline solids.

    At sixteen, Charles Darwin's father sent him to the University of Edinburgh to study medicine. Charles then spent the summer as an apprentice doctor helping his father treat the less fortunate. He would note down symptoms for his father to prescribe patient's medicine. Although Charles did not enjoy studying medicine. He ran out of two surgeries and gained trauma from seeing a child on the operating table. Charles then went on to learn taxidermy.

    Charles Darwin left the medical field to then study and get a degree in the Bachelor of Arts at Cambridge University. Charles wanted to become a clergyman. He attended many lectures given by Professor John Henslow. Charles began to realize he wanted a career in natural science. He became the naturalist on board at The Beagle.

    Charles Darwin left Cambridge, and within a year, he went on a voyage aboard the HMS Beagle. While on Charles's journey on the HMS Beagle, Charles had all the time to study different specimens and create other scientific theories. Charles wrote day-to-day diaries describing his environment and experiences. Over time, Charles's diaries became a book called "The Voyage of the Beagle."     In 1839, Charles Darwin went along to marry his first cousin, Emma Wedgewood. Emma was a very religious woman, which led everyone to believe that is why Charles Darwin had taken so long to publish his book, "The Origin of Species." It was said that his book contradicted her religious beliefs.

    In 1944, Charles Darwin published his book, "Geological Observations on the Volcanic Islands." This book covers the thoughts and theories Charles Darwin had during the voyage of the HMS Beagle. The book went into detail about the different geological features and attributes that made up other regions of the earth. He put together different scientific theories that would be proven right within his journey.

This book is considered the foundation of the evolution of biology, and this book presents scientific facts about the diversity of life that arose through evolution's branching power. Darwin brought forward evidence that he collected while on the voyage of the Beagle. Darwin brought forward research, correspondence, and experimentation from his journey.
