    Earhart MS is currently a 1:1 school. Many teachers use apps and programs in their teaching such as Pear Deck, Google Docs, Quizlet and Kahoot. Students turn in assignments online and do research on their devices. Writing and editing of essays is also a common use of the Chromebooks.
  • Training on CBL

    Training on CBL
    Introduce the concept of Challenge-Based Learning to the teachers and counselors of AEMS. Show examples from other middle schools who are using CBL and technology.

    Explore Implementation

    Form a committee of 4-6 teachers, counselors, administrator to investigate the way to incorporate CBL at Earhart MS. Do we start with an elective class 6th period and keep same students for 7th period homeroom to have a blocked amount of time? Can CBL incorporated in a social studies/science block? How do we incorporate CBL in core subjects and still meet standards?
  • Master Schedule

    Master Schedule
    Incorporate CBL into the 2020-2021 master schedule. Start with just one or two sections using CBL.
  • Training of Specific Teachers

    Training of Specific Teachers
    Send teacher(s) to training over the summer in CBL so that he/she can lead the class incorporated into the master schedule.

    Implement CBL 2020-2021

    Implement section or two of CBL based on recommendations from committee. Use cycle of inquiry to see how well it is working. What needs to be changed/improved, etc. Teacher(s) of the class, meet with committee to explore expansion for 2021-2022 school year.
