Causes of the Revolutionary War

  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    The Pontiac's Rebellion was an attack on a British Fort by a group of Indians. The war was over between them but the Indians still didn't like the Britis and got a big army of Indians and it turned into a seige lasting months.

    The French and Indian war began in 1763, when the British wanted more land and they ruled America at the time, they took land from the Indians but the indians didn't like that which started the war.

  • Proclomation of 1763

    The Proclomation of 1763 closed off the frontier to colonial expansion. The king did this to make the indians feel safer because they thought the British were going to drive them out of their land.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Commisioners from the United States met in paris to come up with a treaty that would end the French and Indian war.
  • Sugar Act and Molassis Act

    These acts put taxes on imported products such as sugar and molassis
  • Stamp Act

    Britain put a tax out for colonists on any piece of paper printed
  • The Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act was just an act created by the British King to secure the British Dominion in America.
  • The Townshend Revenue Act

    This was a tax on tea, paint, and oil, as well as many other supplies the colonists needed. Britain needed to get a lot of money after the war with the Indians. Their goal was to raise 40,000 euros.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a street fight between the "Patriot" mob and a squad of british soldiers. The Patriots threw stones and sticks at the soldiers and the soldiers faught back. Many people were killed

    After the Boston massacre the colonists demanded the British to be removed, also they wanted a trial for the murders of 5 colonists. The two British were found guilty of man slaughter.
