    Underground railroad was created by Harriet Tubman which helped thousands of slaves escape bondage. The North aided the slaves making the South angrier and leading to Civil War.

    Cotton gin was started in the South ,increasing more slave work to produce more cotton to sell to the North. Slavery ownership became a fiery national issue and eventually led to the Civil War.

    The compromise forbade slavery in Louisiana and any territory that was once party of the Louisiana purchase. It led to the division and disagreement between north and south regarding the issue of slavery and made the issue more contentious between the two sides of the country.

    The compromise prevented further territorial expansion of slavery while strengthening the Fugitive Slave Act, a law that allowed Northerners to seize and return escaped slaves to the South.
