    The French and Indian War was a war fought between the French and the British over land in the Ohio River Valley, from 1754 to 1763. This war was officially declared when the french built For Duquesne in the Ohio River Valley. The British defeated the French and won the land. The French and Indian War later caused tension between England and its colonies.

    The Procalmation of 1763 was the declaration by the king that ordered all the colonists to remain west of the Appalachian Mountains, not allowing them to be on the land they just fought for. This was done for fear of starting another war with the Indians that the British could not pay for.
