    The French and Indian war ended with France leaving almost all their land behind and the colonist were not allowed in to the land upsetting the people who just fought in the war for land.

    Thus proclamation was issued by King George III. The purpose of this was to shut down colonial expansion westward beyond Appalachia, which infuriated the colonists.

    The sugar act was a law passed that raised the tax on foreign goods in hopes of ending smuggling trade with sugar and molasses.

    The stamp act was a forced tax on all British colonial printed materials such as newspaper, cards, books, documents, and land deeds. The colonies were furious that they did not have a representation in parliament, so they protested this act.

    The British had planned to capture two colonial leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock in Lexington, and then move on to Concord and take the gunpowder. But American spies had heard of the plan, and were able to spread the news.
    When the British made it to Lexington they encountered 77 American militiamen. by the end of the battle seven Americans died, but other militiamen managed to stop the British at Concord, and continued to attack them on their way back to Boston.
