    End of French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war came to an end when the Treaty of Paris was signed. The war led to Great Britain gaining a lot of land but it also put them in a huge debt.
  • Sugar Act

    Britain edited the sugar act making the colonies have to pay tax on certain imported or exported goods. The colonies had gotten around paying this tax before, but Britain tightened up on the act and began to make them pay taxes.
  • Stamp Act

    The parliament passed this tax act on all legal documents like newspapers, wills, contracts, court documents, etc. This act played a part on helping the British to get out of debt. This made the colonies angry as they were being taxed on for the British's problems.

    The quartering act allowed British soldiers to use colonists' houses as temporary housing if they found it necessary. This act was exploited because British soldiers would treat the colonists' property very poorly for no reason.

    The townshend acts were multiple acts that enforced taxes on a variety of imported and exported items. These acts just furthered the tensions because of the anger induced by colonists being taxed for everything.

    The Boston Massacre at first started as street brawl between the American colonists and British soldiers. The event turned bad real soon as shot were fired killing several people. This occurred outside the Custom House in Boston.

    The committee of correspondence was formed to unite the colonists after the Boston massacre. The formation of the committee of correspondence was very symbolic for the colonies because it showed strength in numbers and will power.

    During the Boston Tea Party American patriots disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians and threw about 342 of British chests of tea into the Boston harbor.

    This was the first military engagements of the Revolutionary war. This battle was between the Colonies and the British after the tensions rose between the two because of how the colonies felt they have been getting treated.
