The Treaty of Paris was signed and ended the Seven Years War. France surrendered all North American territories except for New Orleans. Britain gained all the territory east of Mississippi River. The Proclamation of 1763, ordered colonial settlers to remain east of the Appalachian Mountains.

The colonists protested against the Stamp Act. They argued that the colonists had no representation in Parliament and that they had no right to tax them. They also thought that if they keep accepting taxes from Parliament then they would add more taxes. They believed that the Stamp Act destroyed American liberties. They didn't have any say in the government's policy.

The Townshend Acts levied new import duties on items like glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. The colonists said that they weren't going to pay any new taxes to Parliament. They resented Townshend's plans to use the money to pay the colonial governors and judges, making them more free from the assemblies.

The Boston Massacre occurred when a crowd began hurling snowballs and rocks at British soldiers. The soldiers nervously started firing into the crowd which killed five colonists. Patriot called these killing the Boston Massacre

The Boston Tea Party was when the British was taxing the colonists and they were mad that British was taxing their tea. So on December 16, 1773, Boston Patriots took matters into their own hands, dressed as Indians they boarded three British ships laden with tea and dumped the tea into the harbor.

The Intolerable Acts was when the colonists were outraged. So they had rejected the idea that the British could shut down trade and change colonial governments at will. And the British didn't take it so well about it they acted with violence, coated some victims in hot tar and feathers as a punishment both humiliating and painful.

On April, 19 1775, war erupted at Lexington and Concord, two country towns west of Boston. Gage provoked the battles by sending troops to arrest Hancock and Adams in Lexington and to seize Patriot weapons stockpiled in Concord.They were tipped off by men, that included Paul Revere, who had ridden into the country to warn of the approaching British troops, the local Patriots rallied to drive the troops back to Boston.
