The Proclamation of 1763 banned any English settlement west of the Appalachian mountains. King George the third for England signed the Proclamation of 1763. To ease tensions with the Native Americans the people already camped in that area had to go east.

England would tax America. All printed materials were taxed such was dice, playing cards, almanacs, licenses, legal documents, bills, pamphlets, and newspapers. The Americans had to pay two taxes.

The war dept that the French and Indian war had was not as bad because the Sugar Act helped. The newly acquired territories had a lot of costs so the Sugar Act helped pay for those. Imported sugar was increased to help pay for those things.

This allowed troops to stay in houses so they have a home. If a home was not available they would empty a building for troops to stay in. The residents would get angry if the soldier living in their home took their bed.

British soldiers fired their muskets blindly when a group harassed them. Six were injured, two were mortally wounded and three dead. The Boston Massacre was not actually a massacre.

A group dressed as Mohawk Indians went to the Boston Harbor calling themselves the Sons of Liberty. British boats called the Beaver, The Eleanor, and the Dartmouth all had Sons of Liberty on their docs ready to dump out all the tea. The Boston Tea Party happened because colonists were mad that their tea was being taxed.

The port of Boston was closed in 1774. It would open again if the price of dumped tea was recovered. This made Marblehead the official port of Massachusetts colonies.

The royal governor chose law officers. Town meetings that did not have approval by the royal governor are all banned. If you got caught having a meeting without consent you would go to trial.

A trial can be moved to a different colony if it is allowed by the royal governor. The royal governor could even move it to England. Only if he though that judges in those other colonies wouldn't judge fairly.

The Quebec act granted Catholics a civil government and religious freedom. Only Catholics living in Quebec got this granted to them. A civil government is when citizens had a voice in the government.
