    Proclamation 1763

    The proclamation of 1763 was signed by King George III of England prohibited by any English settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. It required those already settled west of the Appalachian Mountains to return East to ease tension with Natives. The colonists did not like this act because they just fought a long costly, painful war and won that land just to get kicked out of it by their own leader.

    The Sugar Act was passed by parliament to pay for the war. This act increased the duties on imported sugar and other items such as textiles, coffee, wines and indigo. They did this to pay for the War.

    allowed royal troops to stay in houses or empty buildings if they didnt have barracks available. This helped the troops stay safe. This also kept the house they where in safe because they were always war ready.
  • Stamp Act 1765

    Under the Stamp Act all printed materials were taxed. These where some of the items taxed newspapers, pamphlets, bills, legal documents, license, almanacs, dice and playing cards. That caused a lot of people to be mad and they started a riot saying "No taxation without representation."

    The Boston massacre was of course not a "massacre" in the classic sense. Colonialist responded through propaganda and immediately capitalized on this incident using it to fan colonial passion seeing the British unjustly governing the colonies. 5 Colonists where killed in this incident.

    On the evening of December 16 1773 the Sons of Liberty dressed as Mohawk Indians and dumped 45 tons of tea into the Boston Harbor. They did this as a riot for no taxation without representation. This sparked the American Revelution
  • Boston Port Act

    The Boston Port Act Closed the port of Boston till 1774. Until the price of the dumped tea was recovered they moved the capital of Massachusetts to Salem, and made Marble-head the official port of entry for the Massachusetts colony. The colonists couldn't bring anything through the gate.

    Made all law officers subject to appointment by the royal governor. Also banned all town meetings that didnt have approval by the royal governor. This was a very important event in American history.

    Allowed the royal governor of a colony to move trials to other colonies. You could even move it to england. Only if he feared if juries in those colonies wouldnt judge fairly.
  • Quebec act

    Quebec act

    Granted civil government and religious freedom to Catholics living in Quebec. It gained rights that the colonists wanted. This is what the colonist have been asking for, for many years.
