    The End of the French and Indian War (Treaty of Paris)
    The treaty was signed therefore ended the French and Indian War. This caused the the French to give up their territories in the New World. Then allow the British to take control of these lands, including the Ohio River Valley.
  • Sugar Act

    Taxed molasses for 6 pence per gallon. Colonists boycotted molasses goods. Rum industry sufferd due to this boycott

    Created to crackdown on smuggling
  • Stamp Act

    Taxed all paper products . Colonists boycotted all British paper goods.

    Increased King George III power in the colonies. Created sour relations with the British because the colonists felt that this violated their autonomy.

    First battle of the Revolution. Known as " The shots heard around the world". Started when the British went to arrest John and Samuel Adams. Colonist millitia fought back against the British and ended in a victory for the colonists
