The End of the French and Indian War (Treaty of Paris)
The treaty was signed therefore ended the French and Indian War. This caused the the French to give up their territories in the New World. Then allow the British to take control of these lands, including the Ohio River Valley. -

Street in front of the custom house. Led to a shoot out which left 5 dead at the hands of British soldiers -
Tea Act
Tea sold at a bargain price.Did not raise price but was meant to help the failing East India Trade Company.Colonists began to boycott british tea and import tea from other ports -
Boston Tea Party
On the evining of that day,Patriots dumped chests of tea into Boston harbor in response to the Tea Act. -
Intolerable Acts ( coerce Acts)
Used to punish colonists.Boston Harbor was closed and British soldiers were sent to Boston to maintain order.Included Quartering Act of 1774 which forced colonists to house British soldiers. -
Lexington and Concord
First battle of the Revolution. Known as " The shots heard around the world". Started when the British went to arrest John and Samuel Adams. Colonist millitia fought back against the British and ended in a victory for the colonists
