  • The proclamation line of 1763

    The proclamation line of 1763
Following the war, British established a border to separate colonists and unhappy natives. In the newly won western land troops were sent to protect the new land. This border made colonists and natives in possible to see each other which makes no war to put the British in debt
  • The sugar act

    The sugar act
The British were in debt so they had to tax the colonists 3 cents on sugar which did not really upset them but what made them so angry was that they had no representation in the government so they started protesting the rhyme "no taxation without representation!"
  • The stamp act

    The stamp act
The stamp act was another tax on paper, you would put a stamp on important documents, cards, news papers, pamphlets, almanacs, and court papers. This made the colonists even more angry, the taxation was repealed in 1766
  • Townshed acts

    Townshed acts
This taxation placed taxes on everything imported from England. These taxes were made because the stamp act failed and also to show power over the colonies, and to make money. This made colonists outraged! They started boycotting and smuggling things from England! They even made posters to convince people to boycott.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a situation where there were two very different perspectives because of biases. On March 5th, at 9pm, eight British solders were confronted and teased by a group of Colonists. The Colonists shouted rude remarks and threats, some even threw snowballs, sticks and stones. Even though Captain Prescott said to hold all fire, one solder heard the colonists shout "Fire, fire if you dare!" so he fired his musket... when smoke cleared 5 Colonists lay dead. soldiers not guilty.

on the night of December 16, 1773, around 60 colonists dressed as Mohawk Indians, boarded the tea ships docked in Boston harbor and tossed 342 crates of tea into the Boston harbor. they did no other damage to the ships and even cleaned it a little.
  • Intolerable acts

    Intolerable acts
The intolerable acts were actually almost literally intolerable because the Boston harbor was closed and would not open till they payed off all the damage but when it closed people lost there jobs so it was going to be very hard to pay of the damage. Also then anything that involved the British solders would be taken to court in England instead of staying in the colonies. then the quartering acts let the soldiers come into anyone's home and sleep there and even eat there food.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord

Then the solders went to concord to raid there guns but when they got there the guns were gone and the British burnt down the hiding places out of rage
  • The first continental congress

    The first continental congress
The continental congress was significant because it was the first government bringing all of the colonies together. The congress wanted to keep peace but still get the freedom they deserve. The first line of defense was volunteer home guards and just normal town folk. Then on 1775 900 redcoat troops were headed to Lexington and concord to arrest rebel leaders and take weapons. The person to tell the militiamen was Paul River.
