  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was an imaginary line made by the British on the borders of the colonies and the Indians. They did this in order to stop from another war from happening. The colonists didn't like this as it prevented them from expanding their territory.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was an act made by the British government where they put tariffs on all stamps that were used in the colonies. Therefore, the colonists had to pay additional taxes every time they had to stamp an official document to as unessential as wedding papers.The British was doing this because they needed money after finishing the war. This caused a lot of anger amongst the colonies as they had to pay taxes for the most basic necessities of their normal day lives.
  • British Massacre

    The British Massacre wasn't really a massacre but more of a bar fight. As tension grew between the two sides, there was a bar fight between some British soldiers and colonists. The fight wasn't very big but the British exaggerated the fight and used it as propaganda to justify their ways of going to war.

    The Boston Tea Party was a boycott against the British done by the colonists. They threw out tea imported from the British because the British were making themselves the monopoly of the industry and blocked other sources of tea which made the colonists stir and cause a boycott.

    The Intolerance Act was an act passed by the British after the Boston Tea Party. They were trying to bring discipline to the colonies and violated the colonists' rights. The colonists were furious after this act as they thought it violated their most basic rights and more protests and riots grew as the act was passed.
  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    The colonists from the 13 colonies rose up together against the British. After the numerous unfair acts and proclamations may by the British, the colonies thought that they had enough and attacked the British soldiers. The colonies eventually won the fight and liberated the 13 colonies.
