  • End of French and Indian War

    End of French and Indian War
    This was the end of the seven year long war that had resulted in the British victory. After the war British begins to tax the colonist due to the large expenses the war has caused. This was the beginning of the colonists realizing they are stronger if they work together.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    This act had lowered the tax on molasses, which can be commonly referred as the Molasses Act. However this had increased colonists from smuggling goods.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp act was a form against the colonists that had taxed them on legal documents and news papers. This had resulted in riots outbursting and the forming of the Sons of Liberty.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    The Parliament had passed this act which had taxed everyday items such as glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. Which by their surprise the Colonists refused to pay any new taxes towards the Parliament.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a shooting which was done by the British soldiers, which they were confronted by a mob of 'patriots' whom had began the feud between the two groups. This lead towards greater support for the patriots.

    The British parliament had soon passed the tea act, which had began to place a higher tax on tea. This had lead the colonists to boycott the tea and begin to drink smuggled Dutch tea.

    This act had started out as a protest, however the Boston Patriots decided to take matters into their own hands. Dressing up as Indians and boarding three British ships. Which they soon began to start dumping the tea over into Boston Harbor.

    This was a meeting with all the delegates from all the colonies besides Georgia. Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to help pressure the Parliament to take away the Coercive acts and continue to enforce the boycotts.

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord
    This was the first battle to kick off the Revolution, around seventy Patriots had gathered on Lexington Green. They were able to wound more then 200 British troops by a stealthy attack. Which lead them towards their victory of seizing control of the New England Colonies.

    This book was published by Thomas Paine who was believed to be a recent immigrant from England. He explained towards the colonies in his book that they need to gather independence from Britain. Have a republican state governments and a union of new states. He called the King a fraud and parasites because he wanted the common people to elect the government.
