  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    French and Indian started over land, Britain vs France,at the beginning of the war the french had the upper hand.France also had indians in their side to fight,but years later britain came back and the Indians saw that and decided to join the british.At the end of the war the british won and then the treaty of paris started,and that's how the american revolution started.
    The event was important because this was helped the Americans get hope to be free from the british.washington was in the war.

    After the french and Indian war there was the treaty of paris.This meant that the french had to give up the land that they had in north america.This war was important for the british and future americans,they gained back land from the french.

    After the french and Indian war there was a revolt made by native american leader Pontiac.Because the British began to tighten control over it's colonies.The proclamation was made to protect the indian colonist by white settlers

    Stamp act
    It was the first British parliament attempted to raise revenue through direct taxation.So after the french and Indian war the British were left in debt so they decided to tax the american colonist .Because the British helped them with the war,so they expected something back from the americans.Obviously the Americans were not happy about the stamp act,colonist protested burned the act ripped them off weren't happy about it.

    The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that happened in 1770,that happened in Boston.It began by a street bawl between an American colonist and a british soldier.But turned out to be a deadly bloody slaughter.Also colonist tried to enforce British taxes,that's where the famous cry "no taxation without representation" came from

    Important because the american coloinst were mad at the British another reason to start a war.

    The Intolerable Acts were just punitive laws passed by the British parliament,after the tea party.Meant to punish massachusetts colonist for what they did.British took a lot of rights away from the Americans.
    This was important because this was the last straw for the americans and soon will start the revolutionary war.

    Finally this war kicked off the revolutionary war.Tension has been building up for many years,between the 13 colonies and the British.This is where Paul Revere said the famous quote "the British are coming" in this fight the British retreated the war.

    Why was it important:from all the crap that Britain was giving the Americans, they were all ready mad and by reading the book this made them want to beat up the crap out of the British.
