On october 24 1918 all female citizins that were 21 or older were allowed to vote in the federal elections. This made all women and men equal in Canada. It really shaped our counrty because it widened our veiw of the world and opened up doors everywhere for women.

The Great Depression ended in the year 1934, The great depression started when the stock markets all crashed and everyone lost all of their money ,It was hard to find a job,alot of children left home , people passed away, This event although terrible really helped canadians apreciate what they have.

Canada declares war on Germany, the war started in 1939 -45.

The United nations was founded after World War II to stop wars between countries, The United Nations is an international organization,There main goal is to try and acheive world peace,although canada hasnt yet reached the world peace stage who knows where we as a country would be without the United Nations.

During this year, Quebec tried and failed to become a serperate country from Canada.

This was Canadas most sucsessfull Winter Olympics,we set a national record winning 14 gold medals. In total Canada won 26 medals! This made everyone feel proud to be a canadian!

15 years ago The Winnipeg Jets ran out of money and had to leave the NHL. everyone in Winnipeg was devestated. But, in 2011, Winnipeg brought the jets back! We bought the Atlanta Thrashers, and got a new logo. Everyone in Winnipeg is so happy now. It gave winnipeg a reason to be pround of their home again.
