The Fur Trade began when the Europeans started to trade with the natives people. But there was a rivalry between the Hudson Bay company and the Northwest company for years, not until 1821 when they joined companies. Unfortunately, they traded otter skins, and soon they were all gone.

The Gold rush didn't start 'til about 1862. Around 30000 prospectors from U.S.A., Europe China, and all of Canada showed up at B.C. to get some taste of that gold. Some people came for the gold, when other's came to set up businesses and farms. But there was something the native people were worried about, the salmon, what would happen to the salmon if 30000 prospectors were scaring them alway. They wanted to attack the prospectors, but they just went with it, they knew it would end soon.

The Consitution Act was the new consitution for Canada and it icluded a document called The Charter of Rights and Freedom. Which Stated the rules: You have the right to vote, follow any religion, belong to any group, to move from one place to the other, to not be thrown in Jail for something they didn't do.and to have a trial if they were accused of a crime. it is important to have a constitution because if there were no constitution there is no rules.
