Franz was the heir to the Austrian empire. He was assassinated by Serbian Terrorists, which later caused the world war 1 which Canada was involved to. -1
This conflict happened because Serbia was blamed and can't meet 3 demands made by Austria. Canada shouldn't have lost so many men due to this event which Canada has nothing to do with. -
Canada at War
When Britain went to war colonies like the British Empire, like Canada and Newfoundland, were “automatically” at war. 0
There's pros and cons to this event. Canada may have a lot men going into war which may affect the population. But this way, they are being loyal to Britain which made a progress to Canada. -

After this event, Canada's soldiers are known to be brave and independent. Through the triple entete proved the soldiers even further to be impressive. Although the battle took out 10 000 Canadian soldiers. -
Federal Election
The government made a mandatory military service for men. French-Canadians, as well as many farmers, immigrants disagree to this idea. English-speaking Canadians, as well as British immigrants supported it. The pro-conscription side won the election. The losing communities had to suffer with political effects on the country as a whole. -2
This of course brought decline. The government could've recruit the ones that agrees to the conscription. This event affect Canada as a country in a bad way -
The Hundred Days
Canadians played a key role in the series of battles that formed the Hundred Days campaign. With the infantry, along with air power, machine-guns, chemical weapons, and armoured vehicles, the German armies were defeated. 2
This brought progress to Canada. Canada played a major role in the battle. Despite many casualties, hard journey, this proved Canada's soldiers to be strong. It made Canada a independent country. -
Agnes Macphail's election
Agnes was elected to the parliament. Agnes wanted to support various social justice issues by taking a place in the parliament. She was the first woman in the parliament and stayed as it for a long period of time 2
This brought progress to Canada because Agnes inspired many Canadian women to speak out and to break the stereotype of women. She also helped by restoring human rights to many Canadians. -
The Chanak Affair
After the war, Britain decided to stay in Turkey but the Turks attacked them. They sent out a request for Canada to send out men to help them but Prime Minister Mackenzie King declined the request. 2
This event helped Canada makes its own decisions. It made Canada an independent country and not to be as loyal to Britain anymore. -
The Balfour Report
Canada and other British colonies were seen less important under Britain's power. Prime Minister King received a declaration stating that Canada is officially an independent country and is going to be seen equal as Britain. 2
This event made Canada an independent country which now can decide on their own. If Canada's still under Britain's power. Many immigrants couldn't be here and Canada might get dragged along Britain's conflicts because of the allegiance. -
The Persons Case
This official declaration has been for by a group of women “The Famous Five”. They were trying to fight for the rights that used to be for men only. 2
Women are now considered as people with their own rights. These woman faced discrimination across Canada but managed to gain their rightful rights, It resulted as an equal country.
