    -The Gouzenko Affair was the event of the man: Igor Gouzenko
    -The event that happened was when Igor Gouzenko gave away locations of Soviet spies in Canada.
    -Gouzenko kept the spies secret until he was being forced back to Russia (where he originally came from)
    -In return, he requested permanent protection from the government of Canada
    -The reason this information was so important to the government was because of the law made in Quebec 8 years before (Padlock Law) to provent communism in Canada

    -The soviets then blocked off all the western allies air ways, rail ways, roads, and canal into the country

    -The US provided 88% of the 341,000 soldiers aiding South Korean forces and other countries of United Nations
    -The Korean war lasted 3 years and 2 days
    -Korea was divided in two in 1948, the north side had communism government and the south side had right wing government
    -These two differences eventually caused a war with communist china, north Korea, and South Korea

    -DEW stands for Distant Early Warning Line
    -NORAD is the North American Aerospace Defence Command

    -The hockey season ended up in an over all victory for Canada against the Soviets, this was a very important moment for Canada because it gave Canada a sense of pride
