Both sides living a totally differant lifestyles. the fall of the Berlin wall is the end of the Cold war in 1989 as east Germans escape to the west side of the wall. Then they eventualy took it down for border openings.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis is when the soviets decided to put nuclear weapons in Cuba, even though the U.S told them not too. So the U.S said get rid of them or we will have a nuclear war. This is the closest the world has ever been to having a nuclear war, after much tension e conflict was resolved and Khrushchev removed the missile installations.

    in 1964, Canadian peacekeepers began their mission on the island of Cyprus. The canadians served in Cyprus and approximately 125 canadians died out of 25000 Canadian forces that went in. Overall Canada was involved for 29 years.

    The Summit Series is the first time Canadian and Soviet professional hockey teams played against each other. Canada won the eight game series with 4 games to 3 with one tie, after these series Canada and the Soviets earned some respect for one another.
