    A British-produced boundary marked in the Appalachian Mountains at the Eastern Continental Divide. Prevented American colonists from settling on lands acquired from the French.

    Legal papers which gave custom officials the right to search any building. An attempt to stop smuggling.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    A revenue-raising act passed by the Parliament of Great Britain. It taxed sugar and decreased taxes on molasses in British colonies in America and the West Indies.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    An Act of the Parliament of Great Britain which imposed tax on the British colonies in America. Required many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London.
