• Proclamation Line of 1763

    This act made it so that the colonists could not colonize across the Appalachian mountains.
    Some of the colonists just ignored it, some listened but we’re not happy about it, and some did the opposite of what it said.
    The British Government made this so that the Native Americans would be happy.
  • Sugar Act

    This act made a tax on sugar.
    The colonists were okay with the price but they did not want to be taxed without being represented.
  • Stamp Act

    This act made it so that any printed documents had to be stamped and the stamps cost money.
    The colonists were not happy about being charged to buy playing cards and to print newspapers and again, they were not happy about being taxed with out representation.
  • Quartering Act

    This act made it so that if a soldier knocked on your door and asked to stay you had to let them stay and feed them.
    The colonists were not really happy about having to feed and provide lodging for British soldiers they did not even want there.
  • Declaratory Act

    This act made it so that the Parliament could pass laws in colonial America.
    The colonists were happy about this act because they it made Britain pull back all of its laws but some people were still suspicious of it.
