  • Toronto Maple Leafs

The quote "Well, he sure has the earmarks of a combination of Howe and Harvey. His name is Bobby Orr" is what Bobby's coach in Parry Sound said in a letter to the General Manager of the Leafs after scouts went to watch him play. Coach Gilchrist was trying to convince the Leafs to sign Bobby to a C Form contract so that Bobby would belong to an NHL team. The Leafs rejected this and did not sign Bobby because they didn't want to risk money on a 12-13 year old.
  • Boston Bruins

The Bruins were interested. Boston wasn't doing well in the NHL the past couple years and were rebuilding and looking for prospects. They found their best ever prospect in 14 year old Bobby Orr and signed him to a C Form contract. Bobby went to play for Boston's farm team.
  • Making his Name Known

Bobby as showcased on Hockey Night In Canada during the intermission of the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Chicago Blackhawks game.
