    French and Indian War
    At the ending of the French and Indian War, the British realized that the war had drained their treasury. To help gain back this money the British thought they could tax the colonies. During this whole process, the colonists protested "No Taxation without Representation." This marked the beginning of becoming an independent country.
  • Colonists Rebel Against Britain

    Colonists Rebel Against Britain
    A series of protests started the fued between the colonies and Great Britain. Many actions such as the ambushing of colonists throwing stones and snowballs at Red Coats. Later the historical event of 5 colonists being killed by the British called the Boston Massacre. Also adding the dumping of newly arrived tea from Britain to protest against the taxation on tea. Theses were all rebel acts insinuating that the colonies didn't want to be ruled by King George anymore.
  • Colonists Declare Independence

    Colonists Declare Independence
    Tensions broke out and caused the start of what was called the Revolutionary War. It first started in Lexington and Concord. Although George Washington and his men were defeated many times by the Red Coats, that didn't stop them from not fighting for freedom. During this time, they started writing the Declaration of Independence which is one step closer to separating themselves from Britain.

    The American Revolution Continues
    The Americans were not looking good when it came to defending and winning the lands and their freedom. They didn't have supplies, military training, money, people on their side, and lacked strategy. But once the colonists won a war, the French were convinced to back up America and the Netherlands and Spain decided to jump in as well. The colonists regained advantages and were able to cut off the British forcing them to surrender. Two years later, the Treaty of Paris came in and ended the war.
  • The Constitution becomes Supreme law of the land

    The Constitution becomes Supreme law of the land
    In 1789 the constitution became the nations fundamental law and it has been endured for more than 200 years. It symbolizes freedom and has inspired many other countries as well. The colonies were finally independent and weren't ruled by the King.
