    Columbus had many writtings of the Americas on his four voyages to America. He opend the door to Spainish expeditions to the Americas. Although he died disappointed because he did not find the city of gold described by Marco Polo.

The Europeans seacherd all ove the land and described it, in diaries and papers, as a "hidious and desolate wilderness, full of wild beasts and wild men". As the native Americans began as scared of the Europeans, they ended up being cooperative with them.
