    Got this from the book Mussolini used the fact that people were afraid of socialism and communism to make becoming a fascist state more appealing. Even after getting all of the people to listen and obey him, he still coudln't completely destroy the country's old power structure. This is important because Adolf Hitler was a student and an admirer of Mussolini, which eventually leads to Hitler trying these tactics out in Germany later on.

    Beer Hall Putsch, Mein Kampf Hitler led a revolt that ended in a failure and he and his men were sentenced to death in jail. Hitler then wrote Mein Kampf while he was in prison and the German people started to listen and respect Hitler. This is important because it's when Hitler just starts to gain some popularity amoung the people.

    Rise of Totalitarianism Stalin created a totalitarian state, which means the government or group in charge controls everything and the poeple get no say at all. If people try to have their own thoughts or ideas they were taken to jail. They are the most extreme case of nationalism. This is important because Hitler used this too and a tactic used was propaganda to help scare their people into following them.

    Hitler becomes Chancellor Hitler had been using the peoples anger from the war they just lost and the rights taken away from them from the Treaty of Versailles to get everyone to trust and follow him. This is important because this was a turning point for Germany. Hitler's plan was to get rid of politics and make Germany a powerful one-party state.

Without any evidence at all, Hitler had gotten the people to fear a communist takeover and so everyone started to trust and wanted to be led by Hitler. This is important because people are little by little putting more trust into him as they get closer to world war two.

    Nuremberg Laws These were new racial laws that the Nazi party announced. If you were Jewish or in anyway related to a Jewish person you were not a German citizen anymore. You would have all your rights taken away and you had to wear a yellow Star of David so everyone knew you were Jewish. This is incredibly important because this is right before before all the people were taken into camps and away from their families.

    Sudetenland/Appeasement Hitler noticed that the League of Nations were not doing punishing anyone or trying to fix any real problems so he went to them and said if they let him take back Sudentenland, Germany would be satisfied and not ask for anything else. This is important to the start of world war two because Hitler was ready to take whatever he wanted even at the risk of another world war.

    Munich Conference This was the meeting that the representatives of Britain, France, Italy and Germany had to discuss Hitlers plans to take back Sudetenland. They agreed to letting Germany take it back and were happy because they thought that it would be the only thing Hitler would want. This is important because Hitler realizes that he can get whatever he wants, and when he can't he's not afraid to start world war two.

    Kristallnacht Nazis burned down synagogues and destroyed buissnesses owned by Jewish people. They rounded up thousands of Jewish males and took them to camps. Things started to get more extreme when Jews were not allowed to use public transportation and were even made to clean up the mess the Nazis made destroying the Jewish people's buissnesses. Some Jews escaped Germany, some weren't as lucky.

    Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact This was an agreement between Germany and the Soviet Union saying they wouldn't fight against each other. Germany was actually just trying to set themselves up to not have to fight a two sided battle agin like they did in world war one. This is important because Germany breaks the agreement when they feel the time is right.

    Invasion in Poland Germany broke the Non-Agression Pact thatw as made with the Soviet Union so they could take over Poland which they successfully did in only weeks. This was important because it's almost when world war two starts and this is like Germanys preperations by taking over more territory to set themselves up.
