Charles Darwin join Captain FitzRoy on the Beagle voyage. THe trip was suppose to take 2 years, instead took 5. they spent most of the time on the coast of South America. He got extremly sea sick during the trip. -

Crossing the Equator
They crossed the equator, but they still have a long way to go. -
Salvador, Brazil
Darwin explores the rain forest in Brazil, for the first time. Darwin syas ow beautiful everything is. -
Punta Alta, Argentia
Darwin see's many fossils, he is interesed because many of them looked to be new animals. -
Tierra del Fuego, Argentia
Captain FitzRoy tries to start a Christain mission, which fails horribly. -
Falklands Islands
Darwin thinks the Falkland Islands are barren, but he cracks open some rocks and finds fossils. -
Rio Negro, Argentina
Darwin explores the lowlands, with the natives. He says "There is high enjoyment in the natives lives. To be able to, at any moment pull up [your] horse." -

Darwin sees Mount Osomo erupt while on the island. He also experiences an earthquake near Valdivia -

Darwin finds many plants, birds, and tortosies that are a lot like the ones on the main land. -
Sydney, Australia
Darwin wonders why the mammals are so different on this island -
Cocos Island
Darwin studies the coral reefs to test he theory of atoll formation. -
Mauritius
Darwin sees a field which has an under layer of black lava. -
Cape Town, South Africa
darwin points out the 'Table Mountain' with is over 3,000 feet tall -
Bahia and Pernambuco, South America
Darwin was not the happiest with this stop, becuase he was sea sick and home sick, and wished to return to England. -
Falmouth, England
Darwin was happy to return home and go over his reasearch. He said, "My head is confused with so much delight."
