CIA reported that it had succeeded. Then they face 25,000 Cuban troops backed up by the soviet tanks and jets. The invaders were killed or imprisoned. This made the relationship between these two countries worsen

Kennedy responded to this by warning cuba that the US would not tolerate offensive nuclear weapons in cuba. On October 14th, photographs taken by American spy planes revealed that soviet missle bases were in cuba—and some contained missiles ready to launch. These missiles could reach cities in the US in minutes.

Soviets did not like us getting rid of the missile, but America was also unhappy since we could not invade Cuba and overthrow Castro.
