baby's development

  • month 1.

    month 1.
    Within the one month period of pregnancy, the amniotic sac is now just a watertight sac that is settling around the fertilized egg. By the end of the first month, the baby is usually around 6-7 mm and/or 1/4 inch long.
  • month 2.

    month 2.
    Month two the baby's facial features have started to develop. By the end of the second month, the baby, now a fetus, is almost about 2.54cm and/or 1 inch long. And the weight is around 9.45g and/or 1/3 ounce.
  • month 3.

    month 3.
    Usually, at the end of the third month, the baby is fully formed. At this time the baby has arms, hands, fingers, feet, toes, and can open and close his fists and mouth. The baby now is about 7.6-10 cm and/or 3-4 inches long and weighs about 28g and/or 1 ounce.
  • month 4.

    month 4.
    At this time the baby can suck on his or her thumb, yawn, stretch, and make faces. The baby around this time is about 6 inches long and weighs about 4 ounces.
  • month 5.

    month 5.
    Now you can probably feel the baby starting to move if you haven't yet. The first movement is called quickening, By now the baby is about 10 inches long and weighs from 1/2 to 1 pounds.
  • month 6.

    month 6.
    At the sixth month, the baby's skin has a reddish-colored skin and the veins are visible through the skin. Finger and toe prints are visible. Now the eyes are opening. By this time the baby is about 12 inches long and weighs at least 2 pounds.
  • month 7.

    month 7.
    Now there is less room in the womb for the baby to move around and makes it kinda uncomfortable for the mother at times. The baby now is about 14 inches long and weighs around 2-4 pounds.
  • month 8.

    month 8.
    The baby now continues to grow and matures and the baby fat develops. The baby is probably kicking more now because of there not being room. But the baby can see and hear things now. The baby now is about 18 inches long and weighs around 5 pounds.
  • month 9.

    month 9.
    Now at the end, the baby will continue to grow and mature. Now the baby's lungs are fully developed and the baby is ready to come out into the world. Hard to say exactly how long or how much the baby weighs at this point but the doctors will let the mother know.
