    The Portugese brought African slaves to the Americas in 1511. They ued the African slaves to make sugar and tobacco as the plantations require a lot of cheap labor to be profitable. They started to use African slaves becuase they were acumsted to European diseases, unlike the Indians who they used as slaves before. They also didn't know the land so it would be hard for them to escape.

    Cortés arrives at the Aztec capital, Tenochitlan, and the Aztecs immediately believe he is a god. The Aztec emperor Montezuma II agrees to give him lots of gold from their vast gold supply. Cortés later conqueres the Aztec empire.

    Pizzaro conquered the Incan empire in 1533. He captured the Incan ruler, Atahualpa and killed him.

    The French and Indian war was a war between the French and English over land claims in the Ohio Valley. Most of the Indians fought with the French as the English were taking their land, but some fought with the English. The French lost, and the English gained control of most of the eastern half of America.
