    Grand Canal began being construction at 605 CE. Going across 1200 miles. Grand Canal was used for trade and transportation that is why it was very important. It also helped with Cultural Diffusion. The Grand Canal is the oldes longest man made canal in the entire world which was made by Emperor Yang.

    Mongols invaded korea, they distoryed building and their culture, they also lost the recepi for celadon. It was a major event for the Kyoro Dynasty.

    Kublai Khan
    Kublai Khan is thought of as the greatest Yuan Dynasty ruler. He was a grandson of Genghis Khan. He had a comparatively long rule and reformed the empire to increase his power and make the empire prosper. He conquered the Song Empire and Dali Kingdom. He ruled over almost the entire asia going into europe, he is known to have conquered the most land than anyone. He is one of the best emperors anyone had seen. Also marco polo came during Kublai Khan's rule.

    Marco Polo lived in China for about 17 years until the year 1292. He visited Kablai Khan and wrote a book about all his walth then brought it to europe.

    Mongol Empire/ Yuan Dynasty (1200-1368) The mongolions were a very powerful ruled by first, Genghis Khan, then his son, Kublai Khan. They were warriors. They conquered China and became the Yuan Dynasty. They was peace and order for the short time they had control over it. Especcialy during Kublai Khan's rule they had control over entire asia going into europe, but with that much land they couldnt keep order everywhere so they sloly fell and then the ming took over when they had the chance.

    Despite heroic resistance, the Song Empire is destroyed by the Mongols. Becuase of Kublai Khan's rule they were too powerful for the song.

    Ming Dynasty

    Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) The ming dynasty was founded by a peaseant leader named Zhu Yuanzhang, which he created a rebel army against the mongolions. Zhu Yuanzhang becuase the leader of the new Ming Dynasty. He attempted to restory china to its privious state but he only succeded in restoring the cicil service system and confucianism. During his time economy exploded, they repeared the grand canal and improved trade. Their agreculture was great aswell.

    Choson Dynasty

    Choson Dynasty (1392-1910) After the Mongols' rule over Korea, general Yi-Song-gye created the Choson Dynasty. The Choson dynasty the longest Korean dynasty.There was less buddism influnece on Korea. Korea's government was now based on confucianism principles. Later korea created a new alphabet called Hangul which improved the knowledge of Korea, causing writing to be easier. Later in the 1590s, Japan attacked Korea, causing Korea to come up with a new invention called turtle boats.

    Zheng He began his first voyage to explore the coasts of southeast Asia and India. While visiting, he showed the people there the power and strength of China. This helped spread influence of China to other areas. He sailed with 162 ships, he also collected tribute from the places he visited and coqcured becuase they were too scared to fight back against 162 battle ships with huge gunst standing there and ready to fire.

    Tokugawa Ieyasu bacame the shogun of the Tokugawa Dynasty meaning he was the ruler of the entire Japan. The Tokugawa created a orderly society. Their relegion was called Zen Buddhism which was new and influenced japan greatly. ,During the Tokugawa's rule women's rights were extremly restricted .Trade and economy flourished. There was also samurai.

    Li Yuan (566–635) declared himself the emperor of the Tang Empire in the year 618. He defeated rival commanders, and his position as emperor seemed secure. However, his rule was cut short in the year 626 when one of his own sons named Li Shimin forced him to retire.

    Japanese monk Kūkai (774-835), returned from study in China in the early ninth century, they brought new texts and practices with them. They intoduced buddism into Heian. With Emperor Kammu’s support, each established a major religious temple.

    Li Shimin killed his two brothers to gain the position of emperor. He was a famous and long-lived emperor and is known as the Emperor Taizong. He promoted Buddhism in the Tang Empire. He also promoted Nestorian Christianity. During his reign, the empire prospered. Silk Road trade flourished

    Tang Dynasty

    Tang Dynasty (618-906) Li Yuan and Li Shiman revolted against the Sui Dynasty. They then started the Tang Dynasty. Li Yuan was the first emperor and his son, Li Shiman was the second. Trade flourished, they used the grand canal. During their time there was peace and order. Tang's original religion was Confusinism then later Buddism for India becuase of that they had ideas of the tributary states and the land reform system. Thats why its considiered as "One of China's Golden Ages".

    Sui Dynasty (581-618).The Sui Dynasty was heavily influenced by the the dynasty before them, especialy the Quin Dynasty. Ruled by an emperor named Emperor Wen. Sui attempted to take control over many regions causing started many wars.They also built Grand Canal, therfore helping the dynasties after them.

    Song Dynasty (960-1279) The song was like the Tang they were doing great in economy and had a rich culture, they were also heavly influenced in trade. But unlike the song they were continuesly attacked by invaders from the north, since they were a little but advanced they moved to the south of the hang he river. They had less terrytory than tang aswell.

    Kyoro dynasty (918-1392) During their rule Buddhism reached it's greatest influence on Korea. The only major events that happened where when korea attempted to create porcelain from China, but they accidentally created this green-blueish porcelain called celadon and when Woodblock printing was invented.

    Shilla Dynasty

    Shilla Dynasty (668-918) When the Shilla Dynasty was formed Korea became a Tributary state. Korea was heavilty influenced by confucianism by China. Becuase of confucianism women could no longer inherit propery. They also took the idea of the civil cervice exam which was a exam that anyone could take to go up in their ranks and became a person who serves the dynasty but now in Korea only people who have power like the generals could only take it.
