Frederick law Olmsted
Mr. Frederick first started out in farming, and publishing before getting into landscape Architecture. He helped with the design of Central park, the U.s. Capital as well as Chicago's 1893 Columbian Exposition.He helped with the rise of the 19th century wealth status with upgrades. In order to to upgrade to the wealth status, you have to have individuals help to create this idea, and Mr. Frederick did just this. -
The Biltmore Estate
The Architecture Biltmore Estate reflects the prosperity and abundance of wealth in the late 19th century. It represents the Glided Age because it is the symbol of wealth and power. At the end of the 19th century there was abundance of wealth and individuals showed through symbolizing with entertainment, as well as location. -

This art piece represents the 19th century very well because of the wealth of the 19th century. The woman(Lilly Martin Spencer) designed this photo of a woman who is dolled up with many expensive belongings. This was another way to show wealth in the 19th century. During this time as well, bright colors were in style and Lilly Spencer made that happen with her art work. -
Ashcan School Movement
Founded by a couple of men, also known as "The eight", which were men from Philadelphia. Many were journalists, photographers and illustrators. they were apart of the American realism group as well. These men focused more on poor, immigrants, as well as gamblers. They wanted to show what is going on in the real world or the urban existence. many individuals enjoyed seeing the real life photos. -
Art work in the Ashcan School
It is was very important to show the true nature of life in any art that was done in this time. Not only were photos being made with happy moments, but there was also violence in many of the paintings as well. These paintings were very extreme to show not only what was happening but also the emotions in that moment. Many individuals thought they were to bold and did not approve of the inappropriate work. But some saw the depth of emotions being displayed, and valued them. -

The media was booming because the movement of the Ashcan school. It gave the media many ideas to spread the word of the real life events happening around the world. The media was just becoming popular and this event helped this continue to thrive. This era changed so many things for the better. Now we can enjoy the media and free art becomes individuals stood for the real life of the world. -
Ashcan School Feedback
When Ashcan came about, there were many critics when it came to the art of the school. The school itself was only around for a few decades but still remains to be very important in our times now. The American Realism Movement was greatly impacted when the Ashcan school was in play, it sparked a fire with in others especially when it was in the time period when individuals did not have a choice about what they were painting or liked. This has broken the barrier for artists today.
