    In this time era, capitalists were valued because they were rich factory owners and got to do whatever they pleased. Their employees, or laborers, were the ones undervalued because they were dispensable, meaning they were desperate for work and needed money so had no power. This cause lots of conflict as the ages progressed.
    I learned about specific people who were and weren't valued, such as capitalists Rockefeller and Morgan and their stories.

    Gilded Age Gents Inquiry: These 3 men were considered important b/c they were the richest men of their time, even though the rest of the people were under poverty.
    Universal Question: Carnegie, Morgan, & Rockefeller were valued because they were successful owners of companies but also used their money to help thier community. Their laborers were undervalued and often mistreated for being just workers.
    I learned about the backgrounds of these 3 men and also about the two sides of each story.

    Explanation Paragraph
    The Inquiry and Universal question are answered in my paragraph.
    I learned that the wealthy rarely gave back and only what they didn't need. The workers wanted to learn but they had to get an education to survive. This is what we saw from the images.

    Inquiry: The triangle fire factory was a tragedy that could've been prevented. The workers lived under poor working conditions and had no protocol and were never trained what to do during an emergency so when the fire started everyone only panicked.
    Universal question was answered in the padlet.
    I learned about the triangle factory fire and more specifics about the working conditions of workers during this time.

    Inquiry: Workers found themselves protesting at this time, against their owners who only gave them unfair regulations.
  • Day 9

    Push & Pull Factors

    Inquiry: Push factors are what drive immigrants out of their own country. Pull factors are what attract them to the U.S, My examples are in my bubble.
    Universal Question: The different sides of the story are the push and pull factors themselves.
    What I learned: I learned from primary sources of immigrants themselves, on what they had to say about the conditions they lived under and why they wanted to move here.
