Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

    Aristotle meets Dante at the pool, and Dante asks Aristotle if he would like him to teach him how to swim, which spirals into a great friendship.

    Dante takes Aristotle to his house and Aristotle thinks it is weird that his parents are so affectionate.
  • Aristotle Saves Dante.

    Aristotle and Dante are walking in the rain when a car suddenly swerves and nearly hits Dante, but Aristotle pushes him out of the way, which costs Aristotle a broken leg. They later decide to never talk about what they call "The Incident".
  • Dante Leaves El Paso.

    Dante leaves El Paso to move to Chicago for a school year with his parents so his father can take up a job offer.
  • Aristotle and Dante Write Eachother.

    While Dante is gone, he and Aristotle write letters back and forth, though Aristotle doesn't write back very often (Dante calls it a letter ratio of 1 Aristotle letter to 7 Dante letters), which is presumably because Aristotle has become very sad with Dante gone.

    Aristotle begins to dream of "The Incident" as well as his brother, Bernardo, who is in jail.

    Dante returns home to El Paso only to reunite with a sad Aristotle, but seeing Dante brings him back up. While their parents go out often with each other Aristotle and Dante hang out alone. Aristotle and Dante both have jobs as well which occupies most of their time.
  • Aristotle Learns More About His Brother and Beats a Kid Up.

    After an entire summer of avoiding his delinquent brother's existence, Ari's parents decide to tell him about Bernardo after he beats up Julian Rodriquez for jumping Dante in an alley.
