    Treaty of Paris 1763

    Summary:This treaty was to end the French and Indian war. The war was over and the British was now able to actually enforce the laws ending salutary neglect in the colonies.
    Effect:The colonists were very mad that Great Britain was actually enforcing the laws that they had implemented a long time ago but never actually enforced it and now they do.This fueled a lot of tension between Britain and the colonists because the colonists now did everything through G.B meaning they were being enclosed.

    Proclamation of 1763

    Summary: An order by King George the Third that forbids Americans from settling West of the Appalachian mountains this was created at the end of the French and Indian war. Effects: One of the main goals of the war was to capture the Ohio River valley. After years of grueling warfare, the Americans believed that they earned the right to settle and harvest the land. However, the Proclamation specifically forbids this, which many Americans took as a violation to their inherent right to property.

    Summary: This is an indirect tax on sugar meaning that it is added into the cost of the sugar. This was the first tax on the coolonists and they were mad. tax was implemented to get money back that Brittan had to give to the colony to aid in the French and Indian war they owed about 7mill and would have to now repay that.Effects: This made the colonists furious because now troops would just search homes and ships to make sure nobody was smuggling and when people got caught they became more mad.

    Summary:The British passed this because they needed the colonists to pay for the troops that were stationed in the colony during the seven years war. The tax was shown by a stamp put on paper goods such as, playing cards. newspaper, and paper.Effects: This started the movement taxation without representation which was a violation to their rights as citizens. This fueled boycotts of all paper goods and started riots and attacks on the tax collectors homes.

    Summary:This act stated that all colonists must house and feed a British solider if they are in need. In 1766 it expanded to public houses and unoccupied building and in 1774 it changed to include occupied buildings. Effects:The colonists were very mad that the people were taxing them were now able to barge right into their house and that they were forced to feed the soldiers.This wasn't just some people EVERY Bostonian was required to quarter and harbor the troops fueling more anger once again.
  • Boston massacre 1770

    Boston massacre 1770

    Summary:This was a fight when British soliders shot and killed several people (including a child) because they were being harrased and had clubs and snowballs thrown at them the colonists said "shoot, damn you, shoot!" nobody is sure which British solider ever shot the first bullet.
    Effects:This event was seen everywhere and this gave the colonists a reason to be mad.People were already mad that they were being taxed and this just added on Patriots made this massacre seem a lot worse then it was
  • Tea Act 1773

    Summary:This was a tax on tea passed by the British parliament. This taxation was not to raise money for G.B but to bail out the East Indian CO. which was in danger of bankruptcy which played a big role in the British economy.Effects: The colonists are very mad because they drink a lot of tea. They ended up just trying to keep smuggling tea over and they kept getting caught and got even more mad.This lead to the colonists dressing up as Natives and dumping $1-3mill worth of tea in the ocean.
  • Intolerable Acts 1774

    Summary: Was a series of 5 different acts passed by G.B to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea party. This effected all colonists not just those of Boston. The 4 acts were Quartering Act, Boston Port Bill, Administration Of Justice Act, Massachusetts Gov. Act, and Quebec Act.
    Effects:People were furious that they were being punished for something they didn't do and now were all coming together for the same cause, hating G.B. All 13 colonies met at Philadelphia to decide the case for liberty.
  • Qubec Act of 1774

    Summary:One of the intolerable acts. Implemented after the Boston tea party happened to put restrictions on the colonists as punishment to their actions. This act extenended the Canadiam Boarders to cut off the Western colonies of Conn. Mass and also Va.

    Summary:This was the first engagement of the Revolutionary War. Militia forming in MA. The king reacted immediately and took away colonists ammo this meant that the colonists had to conserve ammo which they did very well and "won" this battle.273 G.B casualties and only 95 U.S. Effects: This made all the colonists on their guard now; the plan was no longer secretive that the sons of liberty were planning. G.B finds nothing when searching for ammo and what not. This makes Americans get MORALE!!!!
