    Art prior to 1300

    Art before the 1300 revolved around the structures that were built and focused more on an advancement in architecture. Examples like the Lincoln Memorial, with the pillars for supports, were generated by the art ideologies during this time period. Also Roman art came into play around 146 BCE and lasted to around 312 AD. The Roman art standards did not focus on the basic imaginative play the Greeks had, but were very realistic with their sculptures and structures.

    This art form had started in 316 and died off in 1452. The art form revolves around 2D figures and super unrealistic drawings. It was influenced by the policies of the church and had scenes from the Bible. Contrasting colors were used to show the importance of a singular object in the painting, most of the time it was Jesus

    Renaissance Art

    This art form sparked around the 14th Century and had come to an end around the 16th Century. This form had branched back to the older Greek and Roman styles such as the unique sculptures and structures. Religious figures were very common, for the at the time, the Catholic Church still held power. Renaissance Art Period is home to some of the greatest artist such as Da Vinci. Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. Most of these artists had painting with religious significance.

    The art form from the Baroque time period had a certain theme that they had followed. This was to promote the church leaders and make their image into a more of a savoir type. The images were very exaggerated and helped the church gain the feeling of power channeling through these paintings, to influence the people. These art forms were followed in larger, more important paints, authorized by the church. Some were displayed for home and some were made for the town churches and cathedrals.

The basis of these painting encouraged selflessness and the concepts of self sacrifice and heroic actions.
