Martin L. King gave a speech about the US to stop bombing the Vietnamese and call a truce. This is to be expected because MLK believed in peaceful solutions to problems. Since mostly poor people were getting drafted, AA's being a big majority of them, MLK saw this as an civil issue. -

North Vietnam launches a full scale invasion on South Vietnam. This causes Johnson to resign as president and even he wants the war to end. -
My lai Massacre
US troops went on a search and destroy mission in Southern Vietnam and killed unarmed women, children and elderly people. This created more anti war feelings in the US. -
Kent State Massacre
The Kent State shootings were the shootings of unarmed college students protesting the Vietnam War at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, by members of the Ohio National Guard on May 4, 1970.
