    The Battle of New Orleans was a battle almost ending the War of 1812. Because news crossed very slow they still fought this battle even though the British and the Americans had already signed a treaty ending the war. The victory went to us and Andrew Jackson, the war hero, gained political support.

    Jackson lost the presidential election to John Quincy Adams, due to the corrupt bargain.
