John Quincy Adams won but no candidates for the first time had received the total amount of electoral votes to win so Congress turned it over to the House of Representatives as said in the 12th Amendment.

Andrew Jackson won the electoral votes but lost to Adams in the House of Representatives so this election featured a rematch. Jackson and his party accused Adams of disgraceful politics to win and Adams fired back with a campaign that focused on Jackson's personal life. Eventually, Andrew Jackson became President of the United States.
