    He was born in a log cabin in a rual area. HIs parents were from Irland and had to leave to the Carolinas. They died when he was 15 and had to take care of himself at a young age.

    When Jackson was young he was reckless. He never backed down from a fight, and wanted to prove more. He enlisted in the army as a 13 year old and was captured by British soldiers as a war prisoner. He was slashed across the forehead for not cleaning the soldier's boots.

    General Andrew Jackson ‘s army of about 3,000men attacked Chief Menawa’s warriors fortified in a horseshoe shaped bend. Over 800 "Red Sticks" died that day. The battle ended the Creek War, resulted in land to the United Sates and created a national hero of Andrew Jackson.

    In the war of 1812, Jackson was general in the Battle of New Orleans. He gathered many allies, such as Native americans, African Americans, and farmers, to defend the MIssissippi river. He fought one of the most famous battles in the War of 1812.

    There were 4 canidates in the Election of 1824. Jackson, Clay, Adams, and Crawford were all very politicly driven men who wanted presidentcy. Clay and Crawford were eventually out-voted. But Clay wasn't done just yet, he made a deal with Adams to persuade the electors to vote for him instead of Jackson. So, Jackson lost the Election of 1824

    In the election of 1828, andrew Jackson faced his last campagin rival, John Quincy Adams. Jackson won the election by a landslide and was immediatly put in office.

    Jackson pushed Congress to approve the Indian Removal Act in 1830. It forced many Native Americans to move west of the Mississippi river.In 1838, the United States Army forcedmore than 15,000 Cherokees west. The Cherokees traveled hundreds of miles over a period of several months. Many died alnod the way, mostly children and the older indians.

    The United States Supreme Court got rid of laws in Georgia that restricted activities within Cherokee territory, and clamied it was unconstitutional.They also stated that Native Americans were protected by the United States Constitution.

    In 1828 a protctive tariff was placed to help the economy in the United State. The southern states loathed the tarrif, so Johnc.Clahone approved of "states' rights", which allowe states like South Carolina to nullify the tarrifs. Which ment they would not pay them. In result Andrew Jackson was angered by this. South Carolina threatened to secede if not let to not pay the tarrifs. So Jackson brought in Henry Clay to compromise the situation, In result saving the U.S from civil war.
