Andrew Carnegie's first steel creation
In 1899, Andrew Carnegie started his first steel mill which he consolidated into the Carnegie Steel Company. Carnegie's steel company controlled a quarter of Americas iron and steel production. -
Carnegie's Retired life
After building up his industrial steel company he retired and gave his wealth away. In 1911 he donated $125 million of his worth to establish the Carnegie Corporation of America which provided funding to institutions and organizations for research on education and public affairs.
