    This Ipod was the first one ever. Among the Ipod's innovations were its small size, achieved using a 1.8" hard drive, whereas its competitors were using 2.5" hard drives at the time, and its easy-to-use navigation, which was controlled using a mechinal scroll wheel, a center select button, and 4 auxiliry buttons around the weel.

    Ipod Second Generation
    The Ipod second generation was the secend ipod ever made. This Ipod had a little bit of an upgrade, it was a touch wheel and a little better of a screen.The ipod second generation used the same body style as the first generation, the hold switch was redesigned, a cover was added to the FireWire port, and the mechinal wheel was replaced with a touchsensitive wheel. The front plate also had rounded corners and edges. Its capacity had a 10-20 GB Hard Drive. Its battery life was for 10 hours.

    Ipod Third Generation
    The Ipod third generation was thinner than the previous models, the models replaced the FireWire port with a new Dock Connector and introduced the Touch Wheel, a completely non-mechanical interface with the four auxiliary buttons located in a row between the screen and the touch wheel. The front plate had rounded edges, and the rear casing was slightly rounded instead. The third has a 10-40 Hard Drive. It can last for 8 hours on a full battery.

    Ipod Fourth Generation
    The fourth generation of the iPod has color and picture now on the screen. It had a 20-40 GB Hard Drive. It could last for 12 hours on a full battery. The fourth generation iPod classic replaced the touch wheel from the third generation with the Click Wheel from the iPod mini, putting the four auxiliary buttons underneath a touch-sensitive scroll wheel. The casing was also slightly slimmer than all the rest of the generation of the iPod classic.

    The iPod fifth generation had a 30-80 GB Hard Drive. It could last to 14-20 hours on a full battery. The iPod fifth generation, known as the first iPod that could watch videos, feautured 2.5" 320x240 QVGA screen and a smaller click wheel. The fifth generation iPod is the first classic that could be choosed with whatever color scheme in a non-special edition form, as a black option was added alongside signature "Ipod White."

    Ipod Sixth Generation
    The iPod sixth generation had a 80-160 GB Hard Drive. It lasted for 30-40 hours on a full battery. The iPod sixth generation is the latest in the iPod range. It features a slightly thinner body and improved battery life. The front plate of the iPod is now made of anodized alunimum instead of polycarbonate plastic, and signature iPod White has been replaced with silver.
