    The Olympic Games were held in Olympia every four years.

    BC Dark Ages

    The Dark Ages lasted until about 700 BC. There were no kings and the people were poor.

    BC Trojan War

    Greece, including Sparta, fought with Troy for ten years and won.
  • Jan 1, 1300

    BC Mycenaean Civilization

    Mycenae, one of the most important cities, was the city of king Agamemnon. Ended in 1000 BC.

  • BC Classical Period

    Democracy, Persian Wars, Peloponnesian War. Ended in 323 BC.

  • BC Consrtuction of Parthenon

    449 BC to 432 BC Parthenon was built.

  • BC Minoan Civilization

    The first great civilization at about 3000 BC on the island of Crete. Destroyed around 2000 BC.
