    Tang Dynasty

    Zhou Dynasty

    In the 1100s, the Shang rulers of China were overthrown in a rebellion. In their place, the rebels from the western part of China took power. This event marked the beginning of the Zhou dynasty. This dynasty lasted longer than any other in Chinese history. Zhou rulers held power in China until 771 BC.
