  • Navagation Acts

    Navagation Acts
    The navagation acts were a set of rules that put a limit on who the colonists could trade with. Any goods made in the colonies could be transported in England and only England. The colonists did not like this law so smuggling became a huge part of their lives. This is an example of being treated differently or loosing trust in the king because they are being forced to follow different rules than those in England.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The proclamation of 1793 set boundaries as to how far the colonists could expand west. The line that was not allowed to be crossed was the Appalation Mountains.The colonists did not like this because it put limitaions on them whichl is why it was a big deal. The colonists reacted by ignoring the laws and continuing to move west.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The sugar act was a law that put taxes on sugar. The colonists again did not like this so they tried to boycott sugar. The colonists felt that the sugar acts violated their justice. They smuggled in their sugars and even when it was being heavily enforced they still smuggled it.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was passed which made the colonists have to buy a stamp when purchasing paper goods to show that they bought them. The colonists again did not like this so they boycotted the brittish goods, started multiple riots and would attack the tax collectors. This act violates no taxation without representaion, which was a major cause of the revolution.
  • Quartaring Act

    Quartaring Act
    The act started out saying that the people just had to provide basic needs to the soldiers within their colonial assembly. It later expanded so that the colonists also had to provide homes for them. Some colonists viewed this as a good thing and liked the protection others did not agree with it because it was another reason they had to pay taxes. They also did like having the fear of the soldiers. They would rather have a militia. This act violated their trust with the king.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The acts were made to make the relationship between the colonies and Britain better, but the only thing they did was make them worse. The colonists truely did not like this act. They boycotted this act by not importing any brittish goods. Within a year the imports from Britain dropped almost 50%. This act violated their trust with England.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre had a major impact on the revolution. Five men died in this event. The colonists made it seem like a massacre but in reality it was not because on five people died. The soldiers were just trying to defend themselves against the colonists. This was a violent act which made it have an impact on today and one reason for the revolution.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The boston tea party was an event in which the colonists dressed up as Indians and went onto a ship and dumped all of the tea into the harbor. The colonists were mad about the tax on tea and that is why they did it. This was in a way an act of violence because they dumped a bunch of tea into the harbor which caused a major loss of money.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The intolerable act were passed to punish the colonists for dumping the tea into the harbor. The harbor was then closed until the colonists paid for the tea they dumped out. The colonists boycotted this act and got their tea elsewhere. This act caused their trust to be lost with Britain.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The battle of Lexington and Concord was one of the first battles of the American Revolution. The colonists became upset when they had heard that the Brittish had burned down buildings and hurt/killed innocent people. This was a cause of the American Revolution because it was a violent act against the colonists.
