The French and Indian War was when Britain and France fought over the 13 colonies in what is now, the United States. They were fighting over the Ohio Valley. The British ended up winning and taking some of the French's land as well as Ohio Valley. -
The Result of the french and Indan war
Because of the war, the British had to use a lot of money for troops and supplies, and they sent soldiers back and forth between the 13 colonies and Britain, so it went into debt. Because of the debt, Britain started taxing the European and African slaves there for a lot of things, like tea or paper materials.
