Moved to Las Vegas to pursue more teaching opportunities but became burnt out and decided to pursue Nursing or Physical therapy. -
Dreamed of becoming a nurse
The nursing program was so competitive and I didn't believe I was smart enough to get accepted. So I didn't even try. Applied for the exercise physiology program and was accepted. -

BYU
went to BYU and graduated in Exercise Physiology. Planned on going onto grad school for physical therapy but got married and had babies instead. -
Baby Mia
Had my first baby! -
Baby Eli
Welcomed my second baby! He surprised us by coming too early. He was 8 weeks early. However we were lucky and he only needed to stay in the NICU for 3! -
Baby Jude
Welcomed my 3rd and final baby. He was 6 weeks early and fortunately he only stayed a few days in the NICU because I was able to get a few rounds of steroids in to help his lungs develop. He was trying to make his initial appearance at 25 weeks. I was on bed rest for 9 weeks. -

started UNC
I got divorced and knew I needed to become more serious about getting my nursing degree. Fortunately UNC started just at the right time. I say all the time that UNC opened just for me. -

My career as a nurse!
I hope to one day be either in the NICU or Labor and Delivery. I had Eli and Jude in the NICU for a few weeks due to them being premies and wimpy white boy syndrome hit hard ;). The nurses I had during my labor and deliveries and NICU made all the difference. I was the mom with a birth plan and they didn't shame me for it at all. They supported me when I was crying over the little incubator. I want to be that nurse for someone one day!
