This was a war between the French and the British over money and land. The war wasn't official until 1756. They had an argument about the Ohio Territory.

They started taxing many different products including molasses. This act was only supposed to last until 1763. It was actually called The American Revenue Act.

A number of acts that were passed by the government after Charles Townshend. It was placed on many things like glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. The act was imposed on the 13 colonies.

Colonists and the British fight and five people are killed by shots from the British soldiers. It occured on March 5,1770. The shots were fired into the rioting mob.

The colonists have to go through East India CO. to buy tea. This was made so that they wouldn't sell so much tea. This was also imposed on the colonies.

It happened December 16th, 1773. Many men load a ship dressed as Indians and dump lots of chests of tea into the harbor. It was mostly Son's of Liberty.

This did many things; it have the royals more power, it closed the Boston Ports, strengthened the Quartering Act and more. This name was given because the patriots couldn't tolerate the unfair laws. This is how they punished the colonists for throwing the tea away.

Every colony except for Georgia sent their delegates to talk about matters regarding England. It happened between September and October 1174. This happened in the early stages of the Revolution.

The British soldiers and the Minutemen meet and no one knows who fired the first shot though. The British ran into some another angry mob. This is an event that started the war.

They choose G. Washington as the General and they eventually start to act like they are a real government. Only 12 out of the 13 colonies met. Later on Georgia came into it.

Thomas Paine wrote this pamphlet to discuss the colonial independence. It was published in January of 1776. His main point was independence from Britain.

This document is written and signed telling why the colonists were breaking away from Britain. It wasn't signed until August. It was printed by John Dunlap.
