    The proclomation of 1763
    The proclamtion of 1763 was signed by King Gerorge III. This proclomation would not let colonists settle in the new territory fought for in the French and Indian war. This made the colonists very upset with the king.

  • The Suger Act

    The Suger Act
    The British placed a tax on sugar, wine , and other important resorces to the colonies. The Bristish did this to pay off thier debt on the war. The British also hoped this act would force colonists to sell thier goods to Britan. This act made the Colonists very upset.
  • The Stanp Act

    This act made the colonists pay a tax on every peinted paper they used. This act made the colonist even more furious.
  • The Townshend Act

    This was a nother version of The Stamp Act but this act taxed glass, paint, lead, paper, and tea. It was applied in hopes of raising 40,000 pounds. This tax made the colonists even more mad.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a street fight between a patriot mob throwing snowballs, sticks, rocks, etc. at a squad of british soldiers. Several colonists were killed and this led to a campaign by speech writers.
  • The Tea Act

    This act was designed to prop up the East India Company which was going down in buissnes financially and burdened with 18 millon pounds of unsold tea. Parlament forced the colonists to but only tea from East India Copany.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    This was a retaliation from the Tea Act when a group of colonists dressed as mohawk indians boarded a ship and dumped thousands of pounds of tea into the harbor. There was a great whiplash from the British governemnt.
  • The Intolerable Act

    The act closed the Boston Harbor until the tea was paid off, only food and firewood were permitted throught eh harbor. Town meetings were banned and more power to the royal government. Then crimanals were tried outside the colonies.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Gernreal Gage sent out a regiment of Bristish soldiers quatered in Boston. They were going to Lexington to capture colonial leaders Samual Adams and John Hancock, then they would go to Concord where they would get gunpowder and ammunition.
  • Second Continental Congress

    It was a group of delegates from the thirteen colonies whos headqurtered in Philidelphia, PN. They managed the new found countryb of The United States of America.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The Americans held off two British charges, but were finally forced to retreat on the third charge. The British suffered heavy losses with 226 men killed and 828 more wounded. The British gained control of Breed's Hill.
  • The Olive Branch Petition

    ohn Dickinson drafted the Olive Branch Petition, which was adopted by the Second Continental Congress on July 5 and submitted to King George on July 8, 1775. It was an attempt to assert the rights of the colonists while maintaining their loyalty to the British crown. King George refused to read the petition
  • Common Sense

    Published in 1776, Common Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. The plain language that Paine used spoke to the common people of America and was the first work to openly ask for independence from Great Britain.

    This document formally delcared independence from Britan. This day was an important day in American history. Written by thomas Jefferson.

    The battle of Trenton was very important to the colonial army it was the first time they ever attacked and they barrely lost any men.
  • The Battle of Saratoga

    The battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the war becasue it finally showed the french that the Americans could win. After that battle the french started giving them supplies.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The battle of Yorktown was more like a seige the British were traped by the French and Americans. The americans majorly outnumbered the british alone. This was the last major battle of the war and the Americans won.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Britan wa svery surprised at the outcome of the war and with the treaty Britan finally recignized America as independent.
