Fort Ticonderoga boosted the confidence of colonists, having the control of Fort Ticonderoga made access easy to the Hudson River. Through the Hudson they could export materials and have access to Canada

Bunker (Breed's) Hill

The British won the Battle of Bunker Hill, but the colonists proved they could hang with a large British Army. The colonists caused more casualities than the colonists did on them.

Trenton/Princeton (New Jersey Campaign)

George Washington led a suprise attack against Hessian Troops at Trenton. This battle inspired/led to reinlistment of colonists. It also inspired the colonists morally.

Saratoga (Bemis Heights, the second battle)

This battle showed the colonists could beat large army's and the British were in for a long and expensive war if they wanted to defeat the colonists.

Siege of Charleston

This battle was the worst defeat that the colonists took in the entire war. The British took many of the colonists prisoners.

King's Mountain

After being defeated terribly by the British at Charleston this greatly boosted the moral for the colonists. This battle lead to Cornwall to cancel the invasion of North Carolina.

Yorktown

The battle at Yorktown was the final major battle of the war. It lead the British to negotiation of the Treaty of Paris which ended the American Revolution.
